  • Ebba brings over a decade of direct experience in the Chicago ​Construction community, blending ​Union carpentry roots with visionary leadership in tradeswomen advancement. As a former Union Carpenter, Ebba played a pivotal role in founding the Chicago Sisterhood of Carpenters, chaired the Tradeswomen Council for Chicago Women in Trades, and served as Workforce Coordinator - driving mentoring, community leadership, outreach, recruitment, and deep connections within the tradeswomen's network.

    Recently appointed by Mayor Brandon Johnson to Chicago's first-ever Advisory Council on LGBTQ+ Issues, Ebba amplifies their commitment to inclusive policy and community representation while building partnerships with contractors, advancing apprenticeships, and implementing equity-focused bid requirements.

    Ebba holds a Bachelor's Degree in Visual Arts/Photography from Chatham University and excels in editorial writing, graphic design, videography, and software engineering.

  • Sharon Latson Flemister is a highly experienced professional in the field of marketing and communications.

    With a career spanning over 30 years, she has worked in various capacities, both as a consultant and within organizations, for both corporate and non-profit sectors.

    Eight years ago, Sharon made a career transition and focused her efforts on communication activities within the construction trades industry.

    She has played a vital role in the development and implementation of effective marketing and promotional procedures specific to this industry. Her expertise has been instrumental in driving successful media relations efforts, social media strategies, funding campaigns, and branding initiatives, all with a strong emphasis on promoting diversity and inclusion within the construction field.

    She has actively championed community outreach initiatives aimed at increasing the representation of women and people of color in construction.

    Through her efforts, she has sought out and nurtured industry partnerships to support and advance these goals.

    Sharon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations from Columbia College and a Master of Science degree in Communications from Northwestern University.

    She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Communications and a Master of Science in Professional Writing, blending her academic expertise with real-world storytelling prowess.

    As a 2024 TEDxWarrenton speaker, Carol is also part of the speaker coaching team for TEDxTysons and has presented at prestigious venues such as the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Her accolades include being a Moth StorySLAM Champion and performing at the National Storytelling Festival.

    As a previous Federal Government professional and active member of both the National Storytelling Network and National Communication Association, Carol leverages her storytelling skills to inspire connection and impact across diverse audiences.
